For the full article click here. Is an election year partly responsible for a healthy economy? Are furniture sales higher and unemployment rates lower? Looking back over the past 20 years and the elections those years encompassed yields interesting results. With the exception of the Great Recession in 2008, a possible heightened sense of confidence and hope for the future during election years may partly be responsible for higher furniture sales growth, consumer confidence, gross domestic product and lower unemployment rates.

Move in Senate Would Restore 2013’s 34-Hour Restart Rules, Require 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Periods

Annual Brake Safety Week Is Here. What You Need To Know.

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s annual Brake Safety Week is scheduled for Sept. 6-12. The annual outreach and enforcement campaign was created in partnership with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and involves law enforcement agencies across North America. Inspectors will conduct roadside inspections of commercial trucks and buses to look for missing, loose or worn parts, air or hydraulic fluid leaks, and other issues with brake systems. Vehicles will be placed out of service if they have defective or out-of-adjustment brakes.
